Legal Counsel Commercial & Operations - Decathlon Belgium

Your role in the team

In this adventure, you are the trusted legal partner for our activities in Belgium.

  • Drafting & Negotiation: You draft and negotiate various contracts with our partners and suppliers. (procurement, distribution, logistics, marketing, and service agreements).
  • Operational Support: You help our stores and warehouses solve their daily legal questions.
  • Compliance: You check that our commercial actions follow Belgian laws on trade and consumers.
  • Legal Strategy: You analyze risks and opportunitiés within our business model and propose ideas to help our projects grow.
  • Project Management: You participate in cross-functional projects, ensuring legal requirements are integrated from the start.
You are a hands-on and autonomous person, always ready to contribute as a dedicated team player. You are recognized for your excellent oral and written communication skills. 

Your strong analytical skills allow you to dissect challenges, and you consistently demonstrate initiatives and flexibility in finding innovative solutions. 

With good personal organization, you are able to work on several projects simultaneously. 

Moreover, 

  • You have a Master’s degree in Belgian law.
  • You have already worked for 3 to 5 years as a legal counsel.
  • You speak and write very well in Dutch, French, and English.
  • You have strong knowledge of contract law and economic law.
  • You know about data protection (GDPR), which is a great plus.
  • You always look for solutions rather than just seeing problems.
