YOUR MISSION

As Business Controller for Decathlon Marketplace, you will work closely with the CFO and CEO, integrating various growth levers and ensuring their effective application across different markets. Additionally, they will support local teams in budget preparation, ensure financial alignment, and contribute to strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.

We are looking for a Business Controller to support the growth of an innovative business model in the marketplace sector. This strategic role is crucial in ensuring the convergence of the group’s management rules into a coherent and scalable financial framework, capable of supporting the business expansion across multiple countries.

Your key responsibilities :

1. Financial Steering & Business Growth Support

Define and standardize financial management rules across the group to support business scalability.
Ensure consistent implementation of financial policies and processes in all countries.
Provide strategic support to the CFO and CEO at key business milestones, ensuring financial alignment with growth objectives.
Analyze and integrate growth levers to optimize financial performance and long-term sustainability.

2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Management

Guide local teams in budget preparation, ensuring coherence with the group's financial strategy.
Monitor and challenge financial performance, identifying deviations and proposing corrective actions.
Develop and maintain robust financial models to support decision-making.
Provide variance analysis and insights to drive profitability and efficiency.

3. Closing, Reporting & Compliance

Support the Finance Controller during monthly and annual closing processes to ensure data accuracy.
Own financial reporting to provide clear, actionable insights for top management.
Ensure compliance with group financial policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the development of automated reporting tools for improved financial visibility.

4. Stakeholder Management & Influence

Act as a financial business partner, supporting key stakeholders across different functions.
Develop and maintain a strong internal network, facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
Drive financial awareness and best practices across the organization.
Work closely with operational teams to ensure alignment between financial and business objectives.

YOUR PROFILE

Beyond technical expertise, we are looking for a dynamic and inspiring individual. This means someone who is flexible, autonomous and can adapt to a constantly evolving business environment, driven by curiosity to understand and improve, and takes responsibility and ownership of their projects. You have the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, resulting in impactful influence within a large-scale environment.

You have also:

✔️ 3-5 years of experience in financial controlling, FP&A, or business finance within an international environment.
✔️ Strong financial acumen with expertise in P&L management, forecasting, and performance analysis.
✔️ Proven ability to support business growth through structured financial planning.
✔️ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
✔️ Proficiency in financial reporting tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Power BI).
✔️ Ability to drive change and implement process improvements across multiple countries.
✔️ Fluent English is mandatory and one of the national language (French or Dutch).
