YOUR MISSION

Decathlon Marketplace transforms Decathlon from a retailer into a holistic sports ecosystem, significantly expanding our offer and accelerating digital market share growth globally. Help us build the people‘s favorite sports platform in the world ! 

Within strategic account management, our vision is to be the preferred long-term partner for the world’s most favorite sports brands (Adidas, Puma, Head, Speedo, …).  As part of the Strategic Account Management team, you won't just sell products: you will forge strategic partnerships that align on mutual, multi-year objectives, unlocking business opportunities and creating a love link that guarantees collective success and offers our customers an unparalleled sports experience.

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for cultivating and leading our most critical, enterprise-level partnerships: it is a long-term Partnership Builder position. You will act as the central nervous system for your portfolio of strategic accounts, orchestrating collaboration across all facets of both the partner’s and Decathlon’s organizations to drive exponential commercial growth, offer expansion, and international duplication.

1. Strategic Account Leadership & Growth (GMV Ownership)

  • Act as the ultimate owner of the partner's success, focusing relentlessly on growing their market share and overall Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) within the Decathlon ecosystem.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, establishing and nurturing relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers within the partner’s organization.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive, multi-year Joint Business Plans, outlining shared ambitions for assortment, customer experience, marketing, and growth.

2. Commercial Optimization & Offer Negotiation

  • Negotiate major commercial campaigns, exclusive promotions, and budgets for increased brand visibility (e.g., Retail Media, Instore presence).
  • Continuously work with partners to curate, optimize, and enhance their product assortment, ensuring the best possible representation of their brand and a compelling offer for Decathlon customers.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses on market trends, sales data, and the competitive landscape to proactively identify growth opportunities and provide expert, actionable guidance to partners.

3. Cross-Functional Orchestration & Value Partnership

  • Lead transversal projects that require deep coordination between the partner and Decathlon's marketing, logistics, technology, and retail teams.
  • Be the primary advocate for your partners within Decathlon, collaborating with Digital Sales Ops, SRB, Marketing, Legal, and Operations to achieve partner objectives and unlock opportunities.You are the primary advocate for your partners within Decathlon, while also promoting and integrating our high-value services (e.g., Fulfillment by Decathlon, Retail Media packages) that accelerate their strategic goals.
  • Promote and integrate high-value Decathlon services, such as Fulfillment by Decathlon and advanced Retail Media packages, that accelerate the partner's strategic goals.

You have the ability to see the big picture, anticipate future market trends, and lead transformation projects that reshape the digital landscape for both Decathlon and our partners.

Recgonized as having the ability to collaborate and build strong strategic partnerships at the executive level, internally and externally. You are adept at creating the "love link" that fosters loyalty and sustained growth.

Strong negotiator, you can lead complex, high-stakes discussions. Your communication has impact, clearly articulating value and the ability to obtain win-win commercial agreements.

A highly results-oriented approach with a strong ability to link complex data insights directly to commercial outcomes. You are motivated by achieving and exceeding ambitious GMV targets.

You embrace ambiguity and see challenges as opportunity. You possess exceptional analytical skills to perform deep-dive business analysis, translate data into actionable strategies, and act as a proactive business problem solver for your partners.

Moreover, 
  • you have 5+ years of experience in Key Account Management, strategic sales, or business development, preferably in e-commerce, retail, or a technology platform. Marketplace experience is a plus
  • you own a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Management, or a related field. 
  • you speak fluently in English and the local market language. French is a plus.
This position is open for EU candidates, but there will be a high demand for travel.
